Photoshop: What's a Camera Raw Image
In this video, author and Adobe Certified Instructor Gabriel Powell introduces you to Camera Raw, explains how it works, and reveals why you should use it to edit your images.

Sharpening Workflow, Part 2
In the previous video we talked about where most of your sharpening occurs when you're working on your photos. In Part 2 of the Sharpening Workflow series, we'll look at how to apply some creative or selective sharpening if you have one area of a photo you really want to stand out.

Sharpening Workflow, Part 1
There are many options for sharpening photos in Photoshop and Camera Raw. In this video we're going to take a look at the workflow, specifically where your sharpening should begin.

Removing Dark Circles Under the Eyes
Whether it's caused by lack of sleep, too much work, stress, skin texture and tone or whatever, lots of people have dark circles under their eyes. Since removing them requires just a tiny bit of brush work, they make a perfect candidate for a quick Photoshop retouch.

Automatically Make Your Photos Look Better in Camera Raw
Adobe added Camera Profiles to Camera Raw that automatically do a great job at making your photo look better. When coupled with a feature that lets you set default settings in the raw dialog, you've got a great combination that will end up saving you a lot of time and giving your photos a much better starting place.

Edge Vignettes the Right Way
Edge vignetting has become incredibly popular. When done the right way (meaning not overdone), they really do make a photo look better. However, there are a few ways to create these edge vignettes, some of which work better then others. We'll take a look at them in this video.

Photoshop: CS4's Hue/Saturation Dialog
CS4 made some pretty slick changes to the Hue/Saturation dialog that take some of the guesswork out of using it. We'll take a look at 'em (and some neat shortcuts) in this video.

Photoshop: Removing Distortion from Wide-Angle Photos
If you're shooting with a wide angle lens, you'll often see distortion creep into your photos. If you're photographing tall buildings, they'll look like they're leaning over, and, depending on how close you are to your subject, some things may look like they're bulging or curved. We'll see how to fix that in this tutorial.

Photoshop: High Dynamic Range Photography (HDR), Part 2
HDR software combines multiple images into one photograph to get the best of multiple exposures. In Part 1 of this series, we explored how to use the HDR software that comes with Photoshop. In Part 2 we're going to look at another program called Photomatix that let's us take HDR even further.

Photoshop: Quick Portrait Thinning
If you need to take a few pounds off of someone quickly, the Free Transform tool in Photoshop can do it. It's the fastest diet around.

Photoshop: High Dynamic Range Photography (HDR), Part 1
HDR photography is the process of taking multiple photos with different exposure settings. Often, one exposure will be too bright but really pulls out the shadow details. Then another one may be too dark but it really pulls in those details in the highlights. Then you'll often take one that's right in the middle. Normally, combining all of these photos involves some detailed masking in Photoshop and can take a pretty long time. But by using HDR software we can combine them into one photograph an

Cloning with a Preview in CS4
The Clone Stamp tool got what I think is one of the coolest upgrades in CS4. Not because the tool works differently or in any new revolutionary way, but because it now works the way it always should have. If you've ever cloned in Photoshop you'll know that you were basically guessing what your cloned area was going to look like. But now the Clone Stamp brush has a preview that let's you see exactly what you're about to paint with and exactly where to place the newly cloned area. Watch this video
