How to create headphones.
Headphones: Final Result

Step 1
Create a new canvas 800 x 600px with a white background.
With the Elliptical marquee tool, create a selection 300px X 300px.
Now click Select > Modify > Border and input 10px. Fill it with the colour #898989.
If the fill looks odd. Try anti aliasing it.
Apply the following layer styles:
Headphones: 1.1
Headphones: 1.2
Headphones: 1.3

Step 2
Create a 10 x 10px canvas and make the background transparent.
Use the Elliptical Marquee tool to create a 5px diameter black circle (5px X 5px) in the top left hand corner.
press Ctrl + a to select the whole canvas then click Edit > Define Pattern. Give your pattern the name “spots”.
Headphones: 2

Step 3
Close of the “spots” canvas (no need to save).
Back in the original canvas, on a new layer, use the circle marquee tool to create a 290px X 290px inside the original circle.
Name this layer “headbg”.
Fill that selection with the colour #675949.
Use the layer style:

Step 4
Ctrl+click the filled layer and create a new layer.
Select the Fill Bucket tool and set it’s options to “Pattern”, then in the drop down box next to it select your “spots” pattern.

Apply the fill in your selection.

Step 5
On a new layer, using the rectangle tool, create a 121px X 50px rectangle.
Move this layer under the “Ring” layer and above the spotted layer.
Apply the layer styles:

Use a combination of Edit > Transform > Rotate and Edit > Transform > Skew to modify the rectangle so it looks like this

Step 6
Duplicate the rectangle layer.
Click Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal.
Move the duplicated rectangle to the opposite side of the ring

Step 7
On a new layer, create a #2e2e2e coloured hexagon, by clicking on the polygon tool and changing the sides to “6″. Also make sure star is unticked in the “Polygon Option” drop down box. Move this layer below the two rectangular layers.

Step 8
Create a new layer on top of all the other layers. With the Ellipse tool, draw a 90px X 90px #787878 colored circle in the center of the ring.

Apply the following layer styles:
Headphones: 8.1
Headphones: 8.2
Headphones: 8.3

Step 9
Ctrl+click the previously created circle layer and click Select > Modify > Contract then set the value to 10px.
Create a new layer and fill it with a black colour.

Apply the style

Step 10
Ctrl+click the black circle layer and on a new layer, use the gradient fill tool to fill the selection from white to transparent.
Then Guassian Blur the layer by going Filter > Gaussian Blur. I blurred it by 5px.
Click Edit > Free Transform and resize the layer so it looks similar to below

Step 11
On a new layer use the rounded rectangle tool to create a black rectangle 55px wide 300px high. Going from the circular logo to the top of the screen, or even beyond the top of the screen.
Move this layer under the circular logo, and on top of the rectangle layers.
Use Edit > Transform > Warp to make the very top part of the rectangle wider.
Apply the following layer styles:
Headphones: 11.1

Step 12
Duplicate the previous layer, rasterize it (right click > rasterize).
Use the Rectangular Marquee tool to cut out the upper half of rectangle.

Apply the following layer styles:

Step 13
On a new layer create another rounded rectangle rectangle #bbbbbb in colour and 100px wide 40px high. Should be placed right on the location where you cut out part of head strap.
Use Edit > Transform > Skew, to mold it somewhat around the head strap.

Apply the following layer styles:

Step 14
Using the type tool create a #666060 coloured “R” and place it on the previously made rectangle.

Apply the following layer styles:

Step 15
Create a Ellipse using the Ellipse Tool and create an ellipse on a new layer and move it under the “Ring” layer done right at the beginning of the tutorial. The size should be bigger than the “Ring” layer but not too big.

Step 16
Select the “headbg” layer.
Using the burn tool (right under the paint bucket tool), paint over the headbg layer to accentuate the shadows and the depth of this portion of the headphones.

Step 17
On a new layer under the all the layers, use a 9px paint brush tool and draw a line from the bottom of the headphones, to the bottom of the page. If needed anti alias this line.
