Add Realistic Rain Effects to Your Photo With Adobe Photoshop

This tutorial will show you the steps needed to add rain drops to your photos.
1. First, open your desired photo, click "Ctrl+J" to duplicate your photo and then make a new layer by clicking on "Shift+Ctrl+N".

2. Set your foreground color to #93B2D2 and your background color to #D2E9F2.
3. Click on Filter > Render > Clouds and set the opacity to 58% in the layers panel.
4. Now select Filter > Noise > Add Noise and set your settings to the image below.

5. Now select Filter > Blur > Motion Blur and set your settings to the image below.

6. Right click on the layer you have been working with, select the "Blending Options" and click on the "Blend Mode" to select "Screen" for your your "General Blending" of this layer. Set the "Opacity" to 48% or a desired percentage you might like better.
7. Your final image should look like the one below.

8. To get a darker rain effect and preserve original color in your photo, set your color foreground color to black and the background color to white in step 2 and follow the same procedures until you get to option 6 where instead of selecting "Screen", you will select "Lighten" to get the effect for your photo as in the example below.
