You need Photoshop CS2. And you need to know how to make a smudge brush.

Also if you got Cs2 and still dunno how to make the grunge smudge brush brisks uses in this tut you should look on he's grunge smudge brush tut:

mmmm ok i configured the smudge tool....but when i try to use it..the image doesnt change....its still blue and white (gradient)....

I had the same problems. i gave it up, did alot of tutorials that was easier for a newcommer and then i tryed a week after and with help from brisk i ended up getting it done
Just do some more simple tutorials and you will automatically get better

You have to smudge the render, not the gradient.
