Create a Simple 3D Rack Server in Photoshop

12-26-07Category Filed under Designing & Photoshop Tutorials

In this tutorial you will learn how to design a simple 3D Rack Server for your hosting design projects.

Step 1:
Let’s start out by creating a new file. I used a 400×400 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with a white color. Create a new layer set called ‘Server’(Layer > New > Layer Set). Then create a new layer(Layer > New > Layer). Now choose the Rounded Rectangle Tool from your tools palette and set the radius setting to 40px with anti-aliased checked for smooth corners. In your new layer draw a black rounded rectangle, size 111×44 px.

Step 2:
Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Gradient Overlay and Stroke blending option to your black rounded rectangle.

Step 3:
Create a new layer(Layer > New > Layer) and draw a white rounded rectangle, size 95×26 px.

Step 4:
Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Gradient Overlay and Stroke blending option to your white rounded rectangle.

Step 5:
In a new layer draw a small black circle size 14×14 px.

Step 6:
Now in a new layer make another shape but smaller and black.

Step 7:
Now duplicate your small black circle(Layer > Duplicate Layer) and position it on opposide side of your design.

Step 8:
In a new layer draw a thin black rounded rectangle size 14×14 px on the center of your design.
