Preview: Wordpress Date Icon

STEP 1: Start with a large black canvas, in your layers window make a new layer set and name it Calendar Icon. Create a new layer. Choose your rectangle tool and draw a 55 x 52 pixels, #C00000 colored rectangle.


STEP 2: With your step one layer add the following layer styles:

STEP 3: In a new layer draw a 55 x 18 pixels, black rectangle.

STEP 4: Now set your step three layers blending mode to Lighten so it turns invisible then add a Gradient overlay layer style:

STEP 5: In a new layer draw the #9C8A8A colored line as shown below.

STEP 6: With your step five layer add the following layer styles:

STEP 7: Duplicate your line layer structure from the last steps.

STEP 8: Create a new layer and draw a 49x 24 pixels, white rectangle.

STEP 9: With your step eight layer add the following layer styles:

STEP 10: Choose your Text tool and select font Arial from the font list. Set the size to 12 pt, bold, none and white for color. In a new text layer type the month between your two lines.

STEP 11: Now add the date on the white rectangle using the same font but 18 pt for size and black for color.

Final result:
