step2...

step3...
create new layer-fill selection with light gray (or colour of you choice)- deselect

reset colours (d) to black and white
be sure to name your layers else it will get a bit confusing-right click layer and select blending options- pattern overlay-load colour paper patterns-click three rows down and second from right- scale 50%
opacity-100%

click gradient overlay-linear- foreground to transparent-blend mode multiply-angle 60 degrees opacity 50%- scale 60%

ctrl click layer one and then select right back layer (layer 3)-press delete
ctrl click layer two and then select left back layer(layer 4)-press delete
you now have cut out shapes for the back of the box instead of ful panels.

the box looks a little thin though so...ctrl+j copy layer 1.
delete layer styles and ctrl click copy and fill with white.
move layer copy below layer 1. press up arrow and set opacity to 60%
select forground colour as light brown-select blending modes-gradient overlay
reflected gradient- foreground to background- scale 150%

repeat above step for rest of box.
you should have soething like this now..

of the flare only - drag the selection to you box document and resize to fit the star shape- set
blending mode to screen.

Add some text to the right and give it an effect like this -
colour overlay - any colour
