First of all, make a new Photoshop document with dimensions of 400x400 and a black background. Create a reflected gradient on a new layer, using white for the foreground and dark grey (3D3D3D) for the background. Zoom in to 200%, select the left end, with the rectangular marquee tool, and then cut the layer into its own layer using (layer via cut). Then use the transform tool to scale (edit > transform > scale) the height of the new layer to 90% (image c). |

Next decrease the layer lightness (image > adjustments > hue/saturation) by 20, duplicate it and then move it over to the right (image b). Create another new layer and create a radial gradient, using light pink/read (DB6278) for the foreground and dark red for the background (51000B). You may need to resize it, with the transform tool, so that it is the same size as the other gradient layer. |
