Different Vector Approach
1. Open a photograph of your subject in Photoshop.

2. Goto Layer > Duplicate Layer. Click OK.
3. Make sure the duplicate layer is active.
4. Goto Filter > Artistic > Cutout. Adjust the sliders until you get a nice clean cutout effect. In this tutorial, I chose: Number of Levels to 4, Edge Simplicity to 4, and Edge Fidelity to 2.

5. With duplicate layer active, apply "Overlay" blending mode.

6. You should now have a nice looking vector effect for your photo.
