Create a Teddy Bear

Summary:
A simple tutorial on creating a cartoon teddy bear for use in any of your various graphic design projects. This is also a great tutorial for learning to create cartoon characters in Photoshop.

Step-By-Step Instructions:
1. Open a New Document in Photoshop.

2. Now with the help of your Pen Tool draw the following shape and fill the color #977013.

3. Create a circle for ear using elliptical shape tool.

4. Duplicate the layer and place it on the other side. And when you are done with it, merge down
all the layer that is the face shape and both the ear shape. Now we have only one layer and
the background layer.

5. Now again with your elliptical shape tool Create an ellipse for the eye. Fill with white color.

6. Now duplicate the layer. Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select flip horizontal.
And place it as shown in the picture.

7. Once again with your elliptical shape tool create an ellipse for the nose. Press Ctrl+T.
Right click the layer and select distort. Adjust nodes to get the shape as shown.

8. Now create eye ball inside the eye shape. And place them as shown in the picture. And merge
both the eye shape layers and from the layer style apply stroke of 1 pixel in black color.

9. Now with pen tool we will draw the lips of the teddy bear.

10. Now select the face layer. Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer
style with the following settings.

11. Now select the nose layer. Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer
style with the following settings.

12. Now We will draw the body of the bear. Using your ellipse shape tool, draw the shape fill
with "#402A00 color" and place behind the face layer, as shown.

13. Now we will draw the arm using pen tool.

14. From the layer style window apply stroke of 3 pixel in black color. Now from layer
menu apply layer style>>create layers. Merge both the layers. Remove the upper portion
of the arm to join it with the body.

15. Duplicate and flip horizontal arm for the other side. Apply stroke to the body.

16. Now with pen tool draw the shape of the hand.

17. Now in the hand shape apply layer style with the following settings.

18. Duplicate and flip horizontal hand for the other side.

19. To finish with it we will add little more details to the ears and add eye brow using pen tool.
