I think the whole thing needs to be brighter, it looks to 'Goth' as it is, people will be put off by this(unless you're aiming it at Goths).Its only a small pic at the moment but can you imagin how big those buttons are going to be even at 800x600 let alone 1024 or higher.The buttons dont really need to be bigger than 170x30px, most are smaller.
I myself, like it, I think I would make hte buttons smaller/thinner and also make them flash objects so they have a flyout menu when you hover over them, to give more options. This DOES look like a beginning, so lets see what else you come up with and post again when you are further along.
a website like this with the rounded type buttons coming right out of the side and the whole dropshadow and the background with the curve in it ...... it's way too retro (like 5 + years old) I don't like it If i were doing a jewelry website (or any for that matter ) I would stick to a more contemporary looking site ....I hate to say it but I thin sites that look like this don't look professional . This is my honest Criticism about this ....No offence intended ....
