Another attempt. I'm not sure whether it is any better, but hopefully not worse. The hair is still causing me difficulty despite ChromeV's suggestions, so dunegrass makes a military look for now.

I think you have it down on the eyes. They look GREAT. the mouth also looks good. The nose flattens out. The hair, you can tell the Grass brush was used. You may need to use a very large brush then layer on the smaller hair details. Very close. I would also try to make it so the face and head as a whole pops from the BG.
