In response to rbrice1981 - There is a free plugin you can download from
www.flamingpear.com called Glitterato that produces instant starfields. Its not too bad at what it does. Not my cup of tea though but others might like to give it a go.

So, heres MY attempt Yiyocubanito www.pslover.com/fullsize.php?id=3406 does it look ANYTHING like that cloud?
ChromeV 20 Jul 2006 @ 05:27
Hey Yiyocubanito, I am SURE that you have the skills to make that gaseous cloud formation....I mean, do something like FILTER>RENDER>CLOUDS> then DIFFERENCE CLOUDS a couple of times (just make sure that you are in negative) and then SELECT COLOR RANGE and delete the darkest color (black, if default of clouds was set to B&W) then just SELECT COLOR RANGE (less than before) and colorize with pinky-purple for parts and then SELECT COLOR RANGE even less than before and colorize with greens, then use LIQUIFY to pull some of that color around, and I think you got it...does that make sense? something like that anyway...I think it would be close..I will try and then post an image to see if *I* can do it...

hmm...that's an interresting way to do stars. I like that because I have put stars in my "planet" pictures, but I've always deleted them because they always look so cheesy. I think that would be more helpful. It would really be cool if PS had a randomization feature that could randomly create stars within a certain parameter, color range, size, and placement. I think that would really be cool and save a bunch of time - but I don't know if that would be very useful for everything else.

Really nice work (still waiting on how you did that field of pink gas, that's really cool looking)

Check out the tut I just posted, you'll get a better idea of what I am on about.

damn man..now you tell me this..? you should have told me before..i could have used that here.

At the risk of sounding rude the starfield needs a bit more work. If you make 3 starfields on seperate layers you can have one layer for large stars, one for medium and one for small. Use screen blend on each layer and you can switch between layers using the eraser the get rid of the unwanted areas of stars, making constalations etc.

Nice, well done.
rbrice1981 17 Jul 2006 @ 21:38
spectacular. I would really like to know how you got that pink space cloud. that is a cool addition to the picture.
