also, keep in mind that whatever you see in the doorway, that you will also see in the shadlow, albeit a softer image...with that being said, in the shadow you can see thumbs on hands...however in the doorway you cannot see those, so that would be a mistake.
also the feet don't quite line up with the shadow...just the litle details that will make all the difference.

The shadow should fade the further it gets from the light. You might also see much softer edges to the figure in the doorway since the light is coming from behind.
