Artwork By: Badical | More...
a wallpaper i just finished up on. i've wanted to do something abstract-esque, and with bats.

and here you have it.

i've used a couple brushes in here (not many). but i don't care.. it's a wallpaper for a background, and not something that's going on a shirt.

so i like it.

I dont think you can do a tutorial on how to use your own imagination. As Albert Einstein once said "Imagination is more important than knowledge".
Keen | 18 Sep 2006 @ 13:24
won't happen.
Sympthyx4theDEAD | 18 Sep 2006 @ 11:23
i really lke your artwork its all sort of abstract but still you keep it pretty neat id really appreciate it if you posted a tut on how to create these sort of things
Keen | 15 Sep 2006 @ 11:08
what else does he have to go by though?
Alistair | 14 Sep 2006 @ 14:40
It may be obvious to you and a lot of other people but I dont think its so obvious to joecool811. He is basing your ability to be a professional designer on what he has seen here.
Badical | 14 Sep 2006 @ 13:18
well Alistair, that's obvious. but i'm not doing work for a company. if i were, it wouldn't be even the style that i show on here. it would be something completely different, for the reason you said alone. my style will be my style for the things that i make for me, not for anyone else.

and to everyone else. thank you =]

Joecool811, a graphic designer needs to multi faceted. A company is not going to employ a designer to do advertising work etc. if the designs he produces look like the designs he produced for another company. Hence the need to be multi faceted. But dont take my word for it, check out any professional designers portfolio and you'll see what I mean.
Keen | 13 Sep 2006 @ 23:12
absolutely.
I have yet to be completely satisfied with any of my work... it changes often.

And heck yeah he could probably have a career I mean if you follow the link on my initial post and see how much those ape paintings are going for... around $9000!
joecool811 | 13 Sep 2006 @ 22:13
I just want to say that I have always appreciated Badical's artwork. He could make some sort of career out of design if he wanted to, I'm sure, while on the other hand, Keen's "Obscurely Obscure" stuff leaves a bit to be desired.
Keen | 13 Sep 2006 @ 00:25
you have a lot of class badical.
Badical | 12 Sep 2006 @ 18:43
this isn't a site to go back and forth see who is the most witty out of the group. you post shit. i don't thrive on conflict, i've just noticed you bashing everyone for no apparent reason. so because you have some sort of superiority complex doesn't mean people don't get tired of it, seeing your little comments in which you think you're better than everyone on here.

[which you're not]
Keen | 12 Sep 2006 @ 14:54
my thoery is people take it how they WANT to take it if the true intention of the comment isn't clear.

a person who doesn't thrive on conflict mighta said.. uh... "yep, I ripped off those apes" or something of that nature.
ChromeV | 12 Sep 2006 @ 08:39
Hmm...well (could be) lots to say about this thread, however...
I like it...simple, could be used for loads of things, wallpaper being only one. I have seen this style of yours for a while now and although the image changes, I still recognize it as yours and that is a good thing. I myself and still trying to find my own style, I like lots of different styles and haven't settled on one yet...so at least you are going in a direction here with a common idea/style. Now while I don't KNOW Keen myself, I didn't take his comment quite as harsh as you did, I think it was just a 'tongue-in-cheek' type of comment, maybe poking a bit of fun at you, but certainly wasn't meant THAT bad (at least not in my book)
so Badical, keep up with your style, we all recognize it.
afterall, "ART" is in the creators eyes...others may like it, some may not...you cannot please 100% of the people 100% of the time! Usually, 25% are with you, 25% are against you, and 50% are undecided....
Keen | 12 Sep 2006 @ 07:08
I never said what those apes did wasn't art. I am sure they never considered putting bats on it.

i like it! im gonna use it on my desktop for a while ;)

and keen is not a prick..,. he is funny! you guys dont have humour!
foolio327 | 12 Sep 2006 @ 03:15
And honestly what matters most is you're making something that you like. If you want to see ape shit, oh, sorry, ape paintings go check out keen's extensive collection of mythical fantasys that he calls art.

No seriously Keen, you're a prick.
Nate | 12 Sep 2006 @ 03:10
nice lower the opacity of all the artwork to something like 10% and that woudl make a sweet background for any webpage....well almost any :D
rbrice1981 | 12 Sep 2006 @ 00:43
nice to see controversy in which I am not involved. I like the art. I like the style, it's unique. I would have no interest in buying anything like it, but I could see its use for a web-design website. I wonder what it would look like if those purple and black lines were more smooth.
Badical | 11 Sep 2006 @ 23:53
i pretty much disagree.

but again, i should have expected such an ignorant comment from you, sir. most of my work is looked down upon in your eyes. my job here is not to win your approval of anything, and i assume that yours isn't either. it's to show people on here a different style, art, through my eyes. as a critic here, i appreciate everyone's art, no matter how good or bad in the eyes of "Keen". it's a way for people to express themselves, to come up with original art, or unoriginal art, just to be different. whichever satisfies them. it's not about your comments shooting down 90% of the art on here, just because you think yours is better. no, it's about people taking the time to make something from nothing. these people take the time to do this work that they created, and they post it on here with pride.

you say an ape painting with bats.

i say art.
